What a great visit we had with 4k Alpacas Saturday! We had a great day filled with fun talk about alpacas and other stuff. I was very happy to have someone who was interested in our set up so they could ensure the health and care of an alpaca we were interested in. We have lots of work to do but we continue to learn and improve our location to keep our boys safe and sound.
There were many great parts to the day but I have to say the fact that we came to an agreement on the purchase of our last boy for the next couple years of shows was finalized. I'd like to welcome 4K Elijah to our little alpaca family. Elijah is a great looking boy with good lines and lots of luster in his fleece. We love his facial and leg coverage as well. In addition to that he helps to foster our growth into Suri's as our 2nd Suri and also our movement into having some color in our herd. We can't wait to get him on our farm!
We have a trailer! It was originally hand built and has been refinished and modified a few times. The color is perfect for us and we are very happy with our purchase.

The trailer was a horse trailer but I removed the middle area to open it up for use with alpacas. We had a bit of a light issue but after working on the wires on my truck it is working out perfectly!

My thanks to Santa Claus Alpacas, Windswept Farms, Raging River Alpaca Farm, Once Upon A Farm Alpacas, Michel Century Farm and R'AlpacaLand LLC the advice and time they have spent with Michelle and I this past few days. Our search for the three new boys we'll be adding continues.
We've looked at several great animals and now have to decide what direction we want to head in, what color or types we are intested in and what fits our goals financially.
I am happy to announce that one boy we've been looking at for several months is now in the works becoming a member of our small herd. We signed the paperwork to purchase Jupiter from Raging River yesterday.
We look forward to brining him home later this spring and to taking him to shows. He has great fleece and is our first non-white purchase.
Great fiber, crimp to the end, consistant and a very long staple especially considering his age.
