Informative Websites
AOBA Website is one of the largest organizations related to the
alpaca industry. Lots of information. Our farm is a registered member of AOBA as Shadyside Alpaca Farm.
The Alpaca Registry is a great resource to have. This organization helps to track the blood lines of alpacas. It is a must for breeders but also very likely important to purchasers when trying to determine how good the genetics are of an alpaca being looked at.
Alpaca Industry Blogs
Shady Side Alpaca Farm Blog is where we will post most of our information
related to farm working, problems, issues or questions. Send us your question and we will do our best to answer it.
Alpaca Springs Alpaca/Fleece Blog is a nice blog that gets updates from time to time.
There is lots of older information stored in the history of this blog that many would find useful.
Alpaca Farms/Friends
Windswept Farms is a great resource for products and information. We use this
farm as our place to purchase grain and hay. They have occassional classes and other events that are helpful to anyone wanting
to own alpacas or work with alpaca fleece.
Willow Ridge Farm is a very well run farm. This is the first alpaca farm we ever visited.
The owners are very knowledgable. This is where we boarded our boys for the first 5 months we had them.
Alpaca Products
PBS Animal Health is a great online resource. Very good prices and many products
that can be used for alpacas as well as quite a few items specifically for the llama family.
Alpaca Nation is a large site with lots of information. It is so broad that putting
it in a category is acutally tough. I suggest to every intersted, soon to own and owner of alpacas to review and take part
in the forum.
The Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America can be used by farms to create and purchase alpaca
related products that in general would be to costly for small individual farms to do. Each member is a part owner in this
business and must be part of the alpaca fleece industry.
Other Websites
Pond Care Direct is a small business located in north eastern Indiana with great
prices and lots of products. Most products are safe for wild life.
